I Love to Teach!
I am a licensed massage therapist (LA0088) and certified yoga instructor (E-RYT 500) with over 30 years of experience.
I love to teach. I have been teaching adult learners since 1990. I teach regularly at Acadiana Yoga and Wellness and have travelled within and outside the United States conducting workshops and retreats. I’ve been a massage school administrator and instructor. I am a Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy CEU Programs instructor (LAP0160) and a YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider).
I love to learn. My interest in the connection between the mind and the body began while I was an undergraduate student at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. There, I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I received a Master of Science in Psychology and Applied Physiology from Meridian University. I am a doctoral candidate in Transpersonal Counseling through the University of Sedona, combining my background in Psychology and my ongoing studies in Theology.
I have studied many styles of yoga, but I obtained 2 certifications to teach - through Jivamukti Yoga School and the White Lotus Yoga Foundation. I have accumulated over 500 hours of study in the tradition of Anusara Yoga. I have been trained as a Karma Coach and a Mind Coach (Meditation).
I love to create and share. I was instrumental in bringing Yoga to several of our local gyms and wellness centers. In order to better serve the community, I founded Acadiana Yoga and Wellness LLC center in Lafayette, LA. I also designed 2 Yoga Teacher Training programs approved by Yoga Alliance – RYS 200 and RYS 300. Yoga teachers and enthusiasts have nicknamed me “the Mother of Lafayette Yoga” because of my broad knowledge and teaching expertise. In all things, I look to combine the spiritual with the physical. I am an ordained minister of the World Congregational Fellowship Church. My goal is to help people come into conscious realization of the divinity within, and the unity of God and man (“true meaning of Yoga”), thereby lessening suffering.
